Ils travaillent également sur d'autres projets, comme Akhenaton avec la sortie en 2000 du film Comme un aimant. Il publie par la suite trois albums solos, Sol Invictus (2001), Black album (2002) et Soldats de fortune (2006).
Le groupe sort en 2003 un autre album : Revoir un printemps, au succès critique partagé. L'année suivante, IAM sort sa première compilation qui retrace sa carrière depuis ses débuts, Anthologie (1991-2004). L'un des inédits présents, "Où va la vie ?", sorti en single, fonctionne plutôt bien dans les classements. En 2006, Akhenaton et Shurik'n sur l'album Soldats de fortune du premier, composent un rap fleuve de 10 minutes, La fin de leur monde. Le clip, interdit à la télévision, est accessible uniquement sur Internet[2].
IAM sort un nouvel album intitulé Saison 5 le 2 avril 2007 qui débute directement à la 2nd place dans les charts[3], montrant que le groupe n'a en définitive rien perdu de sa popularité après plus de quinze ans d'existence et de succès variés.[réf. nécessaire]
À l'occasion des 20 ans du groupe, IAM s'est réuni pour un concert exceptionnel au pied des Pyramides de Gizeh le 14 mars 2008.
Le 26 mai 2008 sort le CD "Retour Aux Pyramides" qui est uniquement disponible sur les sites de téléchargement légaux qui contient les musiques du LIve à Gizeh.
Le 30 mai 2008 sort un DVD (IAM 20) comprenant la vidéo du Live à Gizeh, un documentaire sur le groupe (Encore Un Printemps), et un cd bonus des musiques du Live à Gizeh (Retour Aux Pyramides).
