The confrontation with the rude audience rat that occurs before the start of "Ride it On" throws Hope off her stride momentarily, & after an attempted start of the song she stops the band saying, "Let's start it again, please. So rudely interrupted."
-There are other tales of rude hecklers insulting Hope at Mazzy shows, sometimes lewd ones, but those incidents don't seem to be what causes Hope to walk off & end shows early. It's sound problems that seem to be what occasionally drive Hope into show-ending tantrums (see my upload entitled "Mazzy Star - I'm Sailin' Live+Hope's Tantrum Onstage,Toronto..." that records such an incident). She's said "I feel obligated to sing well" onstage. That explains it. She's a perfectionist about her voice coming across well - or else - , but hey, that's admirable in a way!
Btw, the pics of cats are in homage to Hope as being reportedly a cat-person, like me. Some people told me they wondered why there's a mountain lion/cougar pic: The cougar pic's intended to fit with what's happening on the audio track. No, I wasn't trying to say Hope's now a middle aged "cougar" after younger guys (more likely it's vice versa!). The growling big cat pic is intended to fit with what's happening on the audio track, & appears when Hope's changed from an apparent sweet, shy "pussycat" into a peeved expletive-spewer!
A Hope bio I saw lists "pet cats" among Hope's hobbies. Apparently, Hope even identifies with cats...or at least her appearance singing on The Jesus & Mary Chain's song "Perfume" (which she co-wrote - There's a YT video) has her not so much singing, but rather MEOWING repeatedly, cat-like! Fellow singing cat lovers Siouxsie Sioux & Chrissie Hynde have also recorded songs ("Catwalk" & "Middle of the Road") where they meow, purr &/or screech, cat-like! And in Hope's song "Suzanne" is the line "The cats in here are overflowin' . "

Nirvana trivia: These two songs are both from Mazzy's first album, an album Kurt Cobain, in his posthumously published journals , included among his top 50 all time fave albums. as similar to the music from that Mazzy Star She Hangs Brightly Ride it on is known for the song.
