2011 has seen the duo return to music production and with their first offering signed to the esteemed Stripped Digital label John and Martin seem to be well on their way back into the dance music spotlight. The 40th release on Carsten Million's Hyline Music imprint sees the comeback duo making their debut for the label with their 'Celestial' EP. 'Celestial' kicks the EP off with some interesting beat patterns and some wonderfully spacey synth elements. A hazy melodic lead soon ascends over the proceedings and the atmosphere is upped incredibly. The introduction of the bassline is a huge moment as it's warm and smooth flowing vibe suits the dulcet mood perfectly. The ethereal electronics that glisten above the tracks framework paint a gorgeous sonic picture that you and your dance floor won't soon forget.
The companion piece 'Static' closes the EP with a terrific moody vibe. 'Static' has a much darker undertone in comparison to 'Celestial' but is every bit as brilliant. The clusters of bells that make up the melodic centrepieces are Holden-esqe and radiate with a splendid phosphorescent glow. A backdrop of otherworldly atmosphere heightens the senses while the tight progressive groove keeps things firmly on the dance floor. It's one of those pieces that feels like a great journey, it inspires hope and thus is quite thought provoking. as similar to the music from that The Spotlight Syndicate Forget the Static Past One Dance is known for the song.
